TYPES OF PLASTER
The moisture-resistant plates are composed of plaster with additives such as silicone or cellulose fibers that make it more resistant to water and a cardboard with two-sided waterproofing (water repellent). The cardboard of these plates have a green color.
Standard plates are lined with kraft paper. On the front side it is white and the back side is ivory. The plates with thickness 12.5mm are normally more used. As additives normally used are potassium sulfate, sodium sulfate or sodium chlorate.
The additives of the fire-resistant plates (chemical products and fiberglass mixed with the plaster), serve to delay the release of water from the plate that prevent the collapse of the piece. These plates have pink cardboard color.
